NATICK, Mass. - BJ's Wholesale Club announced a voluntary recall of its prepackaged, private-label brand mushrooms on Wednesday after testing turned up possible trace amounts of E. coli bacteria. BJ's, based in Natick, Mass., recalled all its "Wellsley Farms" mushrooms purchased between Feb. 11 and Feb. 19. BJ's said in a press release it had received no reports of illnesses related to the mushrooms, but decided to recall them as a precaution. The possible E. coli was found during a routine produce inspection. Tests to confirm the initial results are ongoing, BJ's said. The products being recalled are: Wellsley Farms fresh Sliced Mushrooms, 20 ounces, SKU 016377; Wellsley Farms fresh White Mushrooms, 24 ounces, SKU 016375; Wellsley Farms fresh Portabella Caps, 16 ounces, SKU 016573; Wellsley Farms fresh Baby Bella Caps, 10 ounces, SKU 016572; Wellsley Farms fresh White Mushrooms, 10 ounces, SKU 016376. BJ's offered a full refund for the produce. The company runs 172 clubs and 96 gas stations in 16 states.
