Health Tip: Who Shouldn't Take NSAIDs
Source:Yahoo Editor:HealthDay Read:
(HealthDay News) -- Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, also known as NSAIDs, are medicines commonly used to treat pain and swelling.
NSAIDs -- which include drugs like ibuprofen, naproxen and aspirin -- are available both by prescription and over-the-counter.
The American Academy of Family Physicians says NSAIDs are not for everyone. They should not be taken by people who:
- Take any sort of blood-thinning drug, or have a bleeding disorder.
- Tend to have stomach bleeding, or peptic ulcers.
- Have liver or kidney disease.
- Consume at least three alcoholic beverages each day.
